Saltillo District Redevelopment Project Community Advisory Group

The Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which owns the 11 acres around Plaza Saltillo, and the City of Austin are looking for volunteers for a nine-member community advisory group to work closely with both entities and a design team to help guide the land's redevelopment.

The land around Plaza Saltillo will be developed into a yet-to-be-determined mix and match of shops, restaurants and public services. A series of public meetings has defined this preliminary framework for the plan and the advisory board will be a continuation of that.

Those chosen will be three people from the neighborhood or community, two from the community at large and four to represent local business, design, development and financial interests.

More information about the Saltillo District Redevelopment Project Community Advisory Group can be found at http://malford.ci.austin.tx.us/boards/results.cfm. Those wishing to serve can apply online at www.cityofaustin.org/cityclerk/boards or in person at the city clerk's office at 124 W. Eighth St. The deadline for applications is July 18.
