Handled project development, coordination of architects and subcontractors and custom construction for residential and commercial applications.  Designed and installed computer, telephone and video networks.  Served as construction consultant for HelioVolt Corporation’s solar research and prototype development facility.  Served as project manager for construction of Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital, a 15,000 sq. ft. Green rated surgical facility.  Provided consulting services for schematic design of new chemical testing laboratory for Applied Analytical, Inc.

 

Facilities Consultant, EATON Semiconductor, Austin, Texas                                                1997

Provided facilities management services to international manufacturer of ion implanters used in the production of microchips at a new, 185,000 sq. ft. facility.  Responsible for clean room air handlers, building reheat systems, hazardous gases delivery and storage, workstation reconfiguration and grounds and building general maintenance.  Implemented preventive maintenance program for main facility, including assembly of supplier bids.  Decommissioned former manufacturing plant, prepared it for sublease and attended to electrical, HVAC and finish-out requests of existing subtenants.

 

Contract Consultant, Applied Analytical, Inc., Austin, Texas                                                 1997

Designed and managed installation of two Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer instruments for chemistry lab.  Furnished connections for cooling, venting and special gases, performed finish-out carpentry, specified and supervised subcontractor electrical services and prepared bid estimate for future laboratory expansion.

MediaNet, Inc. (a subsidiary of Affiliated Computer Services, Inc.) Austin, Texas

Managed facility for co-op advertising auditing firm with 200+ employees.  Responsible for: space planning and design, including corporate relocation and build-out of 35,000 sq. ft. leased office space; purchasing computer and network equipment, furniture and business supplies; negotiating and overseeing office space and equipment leases, communication services contracts, insurance policies and service and support agreements; configuration, maintenance and programming of phone systems, including call center management, integrated voice response and cabling; workstation ergonomics; developing policy and procedures manual; implementing employee safety and security programs; maintaining supplier relations and quality control of goods and services provided; mail room management and receptionist training and supervision.

Marketed commercial and residential lots, custom home properties and multi-family units.  Responsibilities included direct sales and development of advertising program.

Member of the start-up team for Lakeway office.  Conducted market research and new business campaigns in the west Austin area and participated in the Lakeway Builders Association.

Designed and supervised construction of a 3,500 sq. ft. computer timeshare store.  Responsible for construction integrity, fixture selection, space plan and tracking of first quarter operations.  Assisted in development of customer service programs.

 

Architect Assistant, The Redstone Ranch Project, Stonewall, Texas                        1980 - 1982

Renovation and construction of 8,000+ sq. ft. residence and corporate retreat.  Responsibilities included materials acquisition, cost estimating, payroll for 35 employees and subcontractors, site planning, surveying and general construction management.

 

General Manager, Audio Concepts, Austin, Texas                                         1973 - 1980

Management of three stores for retail chain specializing in sophisticated audio and video products.  Sold product to customers and industrial clients.  Trained and supervised employees, evaluated and purchased inventory and oversaw installation and repair departments.
