    Director of Facilities/Safety Officer, Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth, (360 increasing to 400 Beds), Ft. Worth, TX 10/2003-11/2004

  • Manage multiple departments; Plant Operations, Bio-Med, Security, Construction and contracts for maintenance services.
  • Acting Safety Officer, duties such as reviewing reports for OSHA, JCAHO, Local, State and Federal agencies.
  • Responsible for all property management contracts, including purchases, sales, taxes, rents etc.
  • Multiple budgets-Plant Operations, Security, Transportation, Bio-med, Property management. Total budget for all areas were about $5-6 million.
  • Manage capital construction projects that value to $90 million in two phases and I directly managed 30 personnel. Coordinate I/T upgrades included in the 90 million dollar renovation project.
  • New ED, Renovate the entire interior of the hospital, new mechanical enhancements, and life safety upgrades construction on doctors lease space.
  • Responsible for service maintenance contracts.
  • Completed an in-house HCA/JCAHO survey and a real JCAHO survey.
  • Review Real Estate needs for the campus and future growth.
  • Review current status of the physical plant and present corrective action plan to senior management and to make necessary repairs, conserve energy and to extend the life of the equipment.
  • Review the abilities of the staff and make necessary adjustments to utilize the staff to its fullest potential.

    Facilities Planning and Safety Manager, City of Austin
    Primary Care Department, Austin, Texas 10/2002 to10/2003

  • Manage the construction of a new City hospital within the Brackenridge hospital. Review and approve plans and specifications. Weekly review the schedule, budget and work in progress. Consult with Senior Seton Management regarding ancillary contracts for services at the new hospital. Review additional Real Estate needs for the Primary Care Division. Coordinate with the City's Building Services Department for contract services for the Primary Care Division.
  • Assisted in the 80% and 100% TDH inspection for the new hospital. The project cost 2 million and I directly managed two personnel.
  • Review current status of the physical plant and present corrective action plan to make necessary repairs and conserve energy and extend the life of the equipment.
  • Create new policies and procedures for the new hospital.
  • Was safety/risk officer for the Primary Care Division. The City's tax base was shrinking and they had to reduce staff.

    Director of Facilities/Safety Officer-Abilene Regional Medical Center Abilene, TX 4/2001 to 9/2002

  • Manage multiple departments with multiple budgets-Plant Operations, Security, Environmental Services, Transportation, safety program-EOC and Bio-med, real estate lease agreements.
  • Manage construction projects that ranged from 200k to $8.5 million and hire the professional design staff for the projects. I directly managed 25 personnel.
  • New ED 10K sq. ft. and renovate existing ED space, Renovate 4th and 5th floors, new mechanical enhancements, lighting retrofit, construction on Dr.'s lease space.
  • Completed a Medicare and JCAHO survey/inspection.
  • Review current status of the physical plant and present corrective action plan to senior management for their review and to make necessary repairs, conserve energy and to extend the life of the equipment.
