Ozone Action Days
Ozone can be good or bad, and
for all of us there is a health hazard.
- Limit your driving and delay running errands.
- Ride the Bus-free on Ozone Action Days.
- Share a ride to work or school.
- Walk or ride a bicycle to work or school.
- Postpone refueling until after 6 p.m. and don't top-off the tank.
- Take your lunch or walk to lunch.
- Avoid drive-through lanes.
- Postpone mowing your lawn and using gas-powered equipment until after 6 p.m.
- Avoid using lighter fluid when firing-up the barbecue grill.
- Keep your vehicle, lawn mower and boat engine properly tuned to keep exhaust levels low.
- Ask your employer if you can work four, 10-hour work days.
- Avoid traffic congestion by working off-peak hours such as 7 to 4 or 9 to 6.
- Work at home one or two days a week.
