Just The "FACS" Safety Notes
AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION IS WORTH A POUND OF CURE
Half the battle of avoiding accidents begins with recognizing potential safety hazards at the start of any job. Each day you should inspect your job site, tools, and all equipment to be used. Pay close attention to your work and do not allow yourself to be distracted. If you need to talk to someone that is busy using power tools, wait until they are finished so that you do not startle them and possibly causing them to get hurt. If you follow the simple steps below, you have a greater chance of avoiding accidents and injuries for yourself as well as for others working around you.
1. Know and follow safe work procedures.
· Construction has hazards different from those in other industries. If you do
not know the proper safety procedures, see your supervisor.
2. Work safely and encourage others to do the same.
· Look out for your own safety and the safety of others.
· Advise your supervisor of unsafe conditions.
· When you work safely, you set a good example for others. They will be
encouraged to work safely, too.
3. Do your work safely.
· Keep your eyes open.
· Keep your mind on your work.
· Listen to advice about safety.
· Obey safety rules and regulations.
REMINDER
