Tom Cagley's Notes:
The Community Services Committee (Peggy Wingert, Cindy Stewart and
Tom Cagley) met today and discussed the Habitat program. Peggy is
preparing a detailed data sheet which will be coming to you all shortly,
but I wanted to give you a "down & dirty" report.
I met with Habitat this past Saturday (7/10) and went over the
rules, which will also be included in the report Peggy is preparing.
The build will start on/about August 14th. The first day we will need
volunteers on hand will be the 21st, and most Saturdays there after,
through the end of the project. In the report to be forthcoming by
early next week, the schedule will show what skills we need and when.
Although this build is on Saturdays, there are some weekdays that have
activity. These, as a rule, require code certification skills
(electrical, plumbing, etc). We'll have to discuss this, as sometimes
this is contracted. There is also a need, on a few week days,
for
more common laborer assistance, all of this will be in the follow-up in
a few days.
Most importantly, we need volunteers to start signing up, NOW
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
Tom (443-4929) or
Peggy (908-4611).
Please start thinking about your contributions, and people you can bring
to the project, under IFMA sponsorship. This is a worthy cause, and one
our Chapter has deemed important. Looking forward to your support, and
suggestions
