The GREEN BUTTOCKS is indeed a great story-stranger than fiction. It all began with some of the lads using the candle soot from candles in the oclub bar to write their names/call signs on the acoustic ceiling in the bar. The base commander, after who the character of Frank Burns in MASH was patterned I think, got very upset and announced he would court martial the next person who perpitrated this crime. The Jollys were having a party in the bar to celebrate a successful SAR. They had their green spray paint and a large stencil of a foot that they used to mark their comings and goings. A WAF captain (whoes name I'll not mention, but who had a large butt and wore tight fatiques) ventured into the bar. Some of the lads pulled down her pants, sprayed her butt with their green paint and hoisted her up so as to imprint an image of her buttock on the ceiling. This happened in August of 1968. I was at Kadena, Okinawa about a week later trying to hitch a ride home and ! people there had heard the story.
