Shannon Schiermann 

Shannon Schiermann was born and raised in Texas.  She grew up in Houston, and at the disappointment of her father a dedicated U of H Cougar alumni, Shannon chose to attend UT and become a Longhorn.  She graduated from UT with a degree in Interior Design and remained in Austin after graduating working for a small design firm.  When the market fell in the late 1980’s Shannon ended up pursuing her career in Los Angeles, CA.  There she worked as a facility planner and project manager for Xerox Corporation.  After 6 years Shannon decided it was time to head back to Austin, Texas and her roots.  She ended up a bit side tracked and in Houston for 10 years before finally making it back to Austin in 2002.  Shannon currently works for Symantec Corporation as a Sr. Strategic Real Estate Planner supporting sites in the eastern US, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Shannon has been a member of IFMA since 1997 and served on the Program Committee in the Houston Chapter for 4 years before moving to Austin.  She now serves on the Board of the Austin IFMA Chapter as 1^st Vice President and Treasurer.

When there is time outside of work, Shannon likes to hang out with her husband Bob and two teenage sons Ian and Austen.
