Currently, I am the Public Service Manager for the Austin Convention Center. My group sets up and tears down for almost 200 events per year in an 880K SF facility. Our group is also responsible for all custodial operations and a large recycling program. Previously, I was the Director of Plant Operations for Cornerstone Hospital, Operations Manager for People's Community Clinic and in the Facilities and New Construction department with Motorola for 12 years. I was born & bred in Houston and have been in Austin since 1979. I have a degree in journalism from Southwest Texas State University. I started in the facilities business 17 years ago as a project accountant on a billion dollar wafer fab construction project. Since then, I have done construction audits, project management, business management, facilities management, EVS, operations and event set-up. I have been a member of IFMA Austin since 2008 and obtained my CFM in 2009. I am also a member of BOMA and a previous member of AAFAME. Hobbies include reading, photography, gardening and kayaking on Lady Bird Lake. |
