Managed new and remodel construction projects ranging in size from 5,000 to 200,000 square feet.  Selected, coordinated and directed work of outside consultants, vendors and contractors.  Generated plans and specifications for remodel projects.  Maintained building master plans and occupancy information.  Created budgets for capital projects and tracked actual costs.  Consulted with upper management to define upcoming facilities requirements and timing for implementation.

·        Managed design, construction and fit-up of new 200,000 square foot, class-A office building to serve as corporate world headquarters while staying on schedule and under budget.

·        Completed remodeling of 135,000 square feet of office space and 50,000 square feet of test facilities plus 176,000 square feet of new office space to accommodate 1300 employees during 3-year period of rapid expansion.

FAB 25 was a 1mil sf $450mil facility in Texas and FAB 30 was a 1mil sf $400mil facility in Germany.

Coordinated and implemented Architecture, project management, construction management and facilities management for capital improvement and sustaining projects in a microprocessor manufacturing facility. Oversaw facilities management issues including; supervision of 6 direct staff, strategic planning, programming, design, construction, scheduling, estimating, procurement, contracts, maintenance, janitorial, and overall project management.

 

Five International Assignments. Supervised Project Management on major projects in London, Istanbul, Dresden, Guatemala and British Honduras. Completed two new manufacturing facilities with state of the art clean rooms on time and within budget; FAB 25 was a 1mil sf $450mil facility in Austin and FAB 30 was a 1mil sf $400mil facility in Germany.

Project Manager, American Constructors, Inc., 1989-1992. Managed a $12mil Construction Quality Management Contract for the GSA for the design and construction of the conversion a postal facility into the Fifth District Circuit of Appeals. Responsibilities included liaison with the Architect, Contractors, specialty consultants, the GSA, the US Post Office, the District and Bankruptcy Judges and the US Marshal Service.

 

Project Design Manager, Lehrer McGovern International Ltd, London, 1988-1999. Managed the design Architect of the 1mil sf $100mil FC-2 spec office building in the 26-building $4.6bil Canary Wharf Project. International assignment with emphasis on cross-cultural communication and team building. Coordinated bid-packages, value engineering studies and developed roofing specifications for entire development project.

 

Project Architect / Project Manager, Ciragan Palace Hotel and Casino Development Project, Istanbul, 1987-1988. Owner’s agent who managed a direct staff of 9 for the overall programming, design and construction of a $160mil hotel and casino project including the historic restoration on an 1865 Ottoman Palace. International assignment with extensive coordination with multiple Turkish regulatory agencies and multi-national project team members.

Developed and implemented a full service Construction Contract Administration department within an Architectural office.  Responsible for all contracts, documents quality control, specifications and construction administration.
