Barbara Zlatnik, Director of Member Services, spoke to us on the benefits of IFMA. They did a survey of why people join.
The number one reason was education and certification while the second reason was networking. After renewing, the
number one reason is networking and education is number two. There are about 20,493 global members in 98 chapters.
Eleven chapters are in Canada and 11 in Europe. About half the membership has joined a council. They are starting
some smaller groups that only cost $ 25 to join with the hope that hey will grow into councils.
Among these communities of practices are casino, hospital, religious, retail. World Work Place is in San Antonio
in 2013. The IFMA Foundation has produced some sustainability How to Guides. Barbara had many move elements that
you can find on their web site. It is really a gold my for our IFMA members.
